Specialty Composites
E-A-R's patented new polymer processing line—FM3—combines several decades of materials expertise with advanced processing technology to produce multi-layer composites. With E-A-R's processing capabilities, the layers bond chemically, rather than with adhesives, flame or other post-processes, to form an integral, easy-to-install component. E-A-R composites, comprising proprietary foams and elastomers with performance facings and substrates, can provide precise, high-value solutions for many of today's complex design problems. Blending multiple functions and properties, an E-A-R single, multi-layer composite system can control noise, vibration or shock...offer cushioning, sealing or protection...incorporate ESD, EMI or RFI properties...reflect heat or light...provide thermal insulation...and satisfy numerous design goals. With the FM3 line, E-A-R produces proprietary ISOLOSS® LXtra™, FLXtra™, CONFOR® and TUFCOTE® foams and composites, and can develop custom and specialty formulations as well. The line can produce elastomers and composites in thicknesses from .030-inch to 3-inches, in densities from less than 2 pcf to greater than 45 pcf, and in widths up to 60 inches.
